About this product

Product Information

Taking off from a long line of successful first-person shooters, H.A.W.X is the first flight combat game from the Tom Clancy interactive entertainment franchise. While realistic presentation in the game's graphics, audio, and speculative fiction plotline are central to the experience, the play of the game is available at two main levels of realism. By default, a built-in "Enhanced Reality System" serves as a sort of automated co-pilot, providing damage control, targeting, missile detection, squadron management, assistance with stabilization and handling of the aircraft, and similar functions. With the touch of a button, some or all of these auto-assist systems can be disabled, giving the player much more maneuverability and providing a more demanding, simulation-style experience.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X is set in the same near-future reality as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and EndWar, and it takes place in the time between those other two other games. Private military corporations are brimming with money and power, as nations continue to rely on them more heavily for defense. The acronym in the game's title stands for "High Altitude Warfare, eXperimental squadron." Players take the role of an ace pilot named David Crinshaw who had flown support missions for Ghost Recon teams as part of the United States Air Force, before joining a powerful private military company. When Crinshaw's employers decide to attack the United States, he patriotically returns to his position with the Air Force to help defend the nation against the mercenaries.

I bought this game because I'm a huge fan of the Tom Clancy games and this latest game opens up a new chapter to the Tom Clancy Ghost Recon story. For the first time, this game puts you into the cockpit of some of the best fighter planes in the world and gives you the perspective of war from a pilots point of view. The story is loosely tied to Ghost Recon in where you provide support to the Ghosts in a couple of missions. Basically, the game starts where Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 leaves off, in Juarez, Mexico. You are Major David Crenshaw and you fly a f-18 hornet in support of the Ghosts. After completing the first mission, you find out that your stint with the US military is over and you end up being hired by a private military contractor, Artemis. Artemis is basically a ...

  • Very good graphics, great game, good gameplay.

Recently got this game, I was surprised with the graphics and detail into the game. The gameplay is good, although, when playing the {your} airplane seems like it just moves up/down/left/right. The main screen while playing is very detailed, you get to see a map that can switch between two sizes, a little screen on top left corner that you get your mission updates thru and get to see other wingmen while they talk to you. The story line seems to be pretty good, I only played the first couple missions. As I place the cd into my Xbox, it asked me to uptdate and the disc updates to a newer version of Xbox 360 hud [ called the new experience or so]. Overall im very happy with the game, its amazing while playing it on an LCD HD TV, especially if its a good size one!!

  • Great 'flight simulator' game! Highly recommended!

This game is a conundrum, as it is both sophisticated yet easy to play. Like a lot of games with these aspects...it is also addicting. I'm serious, even after you've beaten the games storyline battles, you'll find yourself going back and playing these battles over and over in order to increase your rank, which will unlock more playable aircraft in the inventory. And this is neither boring nor overbearing in its feelings of repetiveness. I've played this game before and aside from the fact it has to be the best 'flight simulation' game ever, its attention to detail and interesting storyline makes this one hard to top. The fact that so many military aircraft, from past present and future, are available for the player, is just 'icing on the cake'.

  • Future Game Of The Year?

Tom Clancy has all but dominated the first-person shooter genre for the better half of the last decade. Whether it’s Rainbow 6, Ghost Recon, End War or the recently revived, upcoming action/tactical series; Splinter Cell, his games seem to fly off shelves. I wonder how much he actually has to do with the game or whether it’s just a marketing ploy by Ubisoft to cram his name in before the title just to sell a few thousand more units. H.A.W.X. is an air combat game that just happens to have his name pasted in front if it. For the rest of the review, visit: http://www.muzikreviews.com/H.A.W.X.php

  • Very Fun game - I feel like Tom Cruise in TopGun

A very fun game with great graphics. And it's easy enough for a newbie or an experienced gamer can both enjoy the same game, The playability is very good, sound is awesome, you feel like your really flying a plane in a dogfight. I'd suggest buying the game, if you ask me.
