Upon receiving the katana I gotta say before opening the case I was struck with a mixture of trepidation and anticipation. Gliding my fingers lightly across the top of the case I began to realize that I'm about to witness something special. Now I'm not one who enjoys the bright flashy colors of most katanas for it seems all the brightness is a diversion so the flaws don't get noticed. Grabbing the hilt of this one i was pleased that wasn't the case. I felt the calm strength the blade exuded.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback!!! You are a poet. I was impressed myself when I got the first one to evaluate. I wasn't expecting much since I'd paid 4.5 times more for my first katana, and 2 times more for second. Very happy with the build, fit and finish on these. And please, no trees haha trees are tough! Like an irresistible force meeting an immovable object!

This katana is even better in person than what I could gather from the photos. The guard has a finely detailed Oni in a golden color, way nicer than I could see online. The handle is tightly wrapped with golden dragon dowels fixing it to the tang. It has a nice balance and feels good in the hand.The storage box that it came in is wrapped in a fabric with flowery designs and lined inside with a softerfabric. It also came with the stand for display.

very sharp and deadly out of box. u were right it looks almost 2 new. the tsuba is so new makes it almost look fake. I m purchasing a few antique 1s that from pre 1800s that i might try to add. then it will be perfect. for price beautiful sword and box.

Thanks for the review! I roughed up the gold tsuba on mine with 800 grit sandpaper just so it would match the rugged look of the rest of the sword. I think I touched it up with some markers as well. It would have been better if manufacturer hadn't painted at all. Some people my like it of course,
