Read a bunch of stuff saying that max memory is 8GB for this processor, that was a bunch of ****, installed the 2x8GB modules and the system recognized the 16GB!! Doubled my memory, now thinking about upgrading the processor since they are so cheap now. This is a 15 year old laptop and it is still going strong! Sony built them great back then, everything is upgradeable.

It was well packed but even in the packaging the held the memory protected it very well. I was even able to put the memory I removed in the package for storage.
