Nice,simple,reliable!
In this,the mega-technical age,where mobile phones do almost anything bar make a cup of tea (sure that will be the next step),this phone is a throwback to recent,simpler times,when all we really wanted to do with our phones is talk and text,and for work,that's all i really need,see,i work on the railways,where reliable contact is important,the 1100 with its very long battery life just fits the bill,it lacks all the whistles and bells but who cares?for my duties its the tops for me!In this,the mega-technical age,where mobile phones do almost anything bar make a cup of tea (sure that will be the next step),this phone is a throwback to recent,simpler times,when all we really wanted to do with our phones is talk and text,and for work,that's all i really need,see,i work on the railways,where reliable contact is important,the 1100 with its very long battery life just fits the bill,it lacks all the whistles and bells but who cares?for my duties its the tops for me!

Cheap and cheerful.
Very easy to use. A good phone if you only want it to call and text. I had one of these phones previously for many years which survived being dropped down stairs and run over with the car (although I wouldn't recommend that!) The fact that it doesn't have lots and lots of features is part of its appeal. I've had other phones that are far too complicated and one touch of a button and you're connected to the Internet. As I didn't want 'all the bells and whistles' this phone is perfect for me. The battery lasts a long time and it's excellent value for money.Very easy to use. A good phone if you only want it to call and text. Ultra basic reliable phone with amazing battery life. Can't go wrong.
Ultra basic phone. Phone and text and that's it. Very easy to use, quick access to all 'features'. Very durable and easy to fix if anything does go wrong. If you don't need e-mail or photos all the time this is the perfect phone. Battery lasts a week and even has a torch! More than enough for me. Stagerat66

I was looking for a cheap and simple phone, just to make phonecalls and send texts, without any fancy stuff. I had previously had a big-button simple phone by a different maker, but it was relatively large, and the battery needed to be recharged every few days. The Nokia 1100 is small and light enough to carry unnoticeably in a handbag (although obviously not a state-of-the-art phone in 2010); it does exactly what I wanted it to do; it is easy to operate; the user instructions are clear and easy to understand; the screen is easy to read (I've read reviews saying that the screen is hard to see in daylight, but I have not found that); the battery lasts for weeks between charges, with moderate use.
