  • These drives won't stay connected on some Macs.

    I have owned a 2TB OWC Elecktron for 5 months and it quite simply doesn't work. It won't stay connected and self ejects. This is a known issue and apparently can be fixed by changing the security permissions on my M1 MacBook Pro. I've done that and it still self ejects often enough I can't perform a Time Machine backup. Reading the OWC/MacSales website or even searching their knowledge base doesn't mention this. It is advertised as 'Universally Compatible'. That is blatant lie. After talking with tech support they say the've mentioned this issue several times in their blog. That's not helpful if you don't read their blog. This will require Apple to fix this issue but one would hope that OWC would have the self respect and respect for their customers that they would inform them before ...
