The more you watch it, the funnier it gets.
Good cast, and very stupid, but funny! If you know the classic Bruce Lee movie "Enter the Dragon", it follows the theme closely. I loved it!

Although Randy hasn't competed in years, he gets his "groove back", thanks to the grueling training regimen of blind Ping-Pong Master, Wong (James Hong). (These training sequences provide some side-hurting laughter; that may require the PAUSE button while you change your outfit "If You Get My Point"). Summoned to Feng's secret tropical lair to play in an Underground Ping-Pong Tournament; Randy faces the World's Best Players, including his old nemesis Karl, as he tries to foil Feng's evil plans. Alums of MTV's The State sketch comedy series, Garant and Lennon carry the comic timing and ingenuity to sustain this feature-length film. 'Balls of Fury' lurches from one broad staged set piece to another as it crusades towards the loud and spectacularly carousing finale. The filmmakers aim for the lowest common denominator with crude regularity, which generates the hugest laughs. The actors never need to struggle in performing the comedy equivalent of CPR on 'Balls of Fury'. Viewers inevitably come to love lissome Maggie Q, Fogler's love interest. A Tony Award Winner in his first feature film lead, it's great to see a beauty as poised as Q play her love scenes with Fogler's charm-free, corpulent beast (or hairy smurf) character. All around; 'Balls of Fury' presents the copulent fun that requires no deep thought; just a will to laugh and smile. Proceed into the film with that at heart, and you are destined for the ride of a crude-swilling lifetime. A definate don't mis, that will sit amongst the classic comedy shelves; with other recent inductees like "Old School", "American Pie I, II, III", "Anchorman", "Dodgeball", "40-Year Old Virgin", "Knocked Up", "Superbad"....and more. I attended a preview screening of this movie in 2007 before it was publicly released and enjoyed it then. I bought it this summer primarily because I was going to be spending some time with James Hong and had enjoyed his performance as the blind ping pong master -- and also because it was available for a good price on eBay. I'm not going to describe the plot in detail -- others have, and you can find all the details elsewhere. Suffice it to say that it is a parody of all those martial arts movies in which the hero has to overcome seemingly impossible odds to kill the person who killed his father. The big difference is that instead of Asian martial arts the form of combat in "Balls of Fury" is ping pong. There are some surprises and unpredictable twists and turns in the action within the ... Some I liked, some I didn't for various reasons, but fans of contemporary pop satires of popular genres can expect to enjoy this. I know I did. I don't know if I would watch the added features (deleted scenes, an alternative ending, etc.,) more than once, but a added feature about a day in the life of the film's female "ball wrangler" was clever as broad PG-13 comedy. (BTW, Hong told me that the scene where he sticks his chopsticks up Jason Scott Lee's nose, throws him down an elevator shaft and then resumes eating with the same chopsticks wasn't in the original script. He improved it when they were blocking the scene and the powers-that-be decided to use it.)

Previews looked like it might be a little funny. It was not.
I sometimes enjoy goofball comedies, and I really like Christopher Walken so I gave it a shot. It just came up short, and Chris couldn't save it either. I'd have been better off passing on this one.
