The spin rate of this drive is 15k RPM, which provides high performance in mission critical applications. Along with the 15k RPM spindle speed, it has a 64MB cache, which results in sequential and random write performance that is very fast. The hard drive also has self-encrypting models that conform to the TCG’s Enterprise A specifications. The HGST Ultrastar (HUS156060VLS600) 15K600 hard drive also offers advanced power management that optimizes power consumption. As it has a form factor of 3.5 inches wide and 26.1mm high, it will fit into most desktop systems. This internal hard disk also features a Fluid Dynamic Bearing motor, a Rotational Vibration Safeguard, and load/unload technology, to give you the performance you need when you need it most. The Fluid Dynamic Bearing motor improves acoustics and has proven reliability. The Rotational Vibration Safeguard maintains drive performance in high rotational vibration environments and multi-drive systems. The load/unload technology minimizes handling damage during integration. It has a minimum operating temperature of 41 degrees Fahrenheit and a maximum temperature of 131 degrees. The power consumption on this internal hard drive has been reduced by up to 31 percent, to reduce the cooling requirements in data centers. The statistical analysis system (SAS) is a software system that works together with a group of computer programs to store data value. The SAS interface of the HGST Ultrastar (HUS156060VLS600) hard drive enables you to transfer data to a host at speeds of 6GB/s. The SAS interface delivers reliable data throughput.     Great SAS drive for Dell servers

    This brand-new SGST works like a charm with my old Dell server. After trying first one I ordered 4 extra. Until I found this HGST, I was trying my luck with "refurbished" or otherwise second hand no-name or pseudo-Seagate market is loaded with. They not only do not work well but can damage your system.

    These drives are used in some SAN AKA RAID arrays and they are working well for me

    Have an older Dothill SAN AKA RAID array that uses these with special cannisters. I just put these drives in the cannisters and they worked fine.
