About this product

Product Information

In the 1980s, professional wrestling vaulted into its golden age with the help of a roster of colorful personalities both in and out of the ring. This documentary recounts the contributions of the managers who worked behind (and, sometimes, in) the scenes to transform wrestling into the pop culture phenomenon it is today with a collection of clips and highlights featuring Captain Lou Albano, the Grand Wizard, "Classy" Freddie Blassie, "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Jim Cornette, and Paul Bearer.

  • Where's The Beef?

I enjoyed this DVD, but thought it could be drastically improved to a level far superior than what it is now. For starters, Tod Grisham should not be hosting this (let's just thank our lucky stars he doesn't narrate it as well). Secondly, it seems that a lot of the interviewing was done in character. I feel that everyone was taking the idea of a manager as serious, rather than looking into the people who became some of the famous and beloved manager's we witnessed over the years of professional wrestling. While we do get brief glimpses of some managers early days, the lack of true biographical information (personal and wrestling) makes this DVD falter. Anyone who has seen The Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80s might have a hard time fully enjoying this particular release. ...

  • WWE - World's Greatest Wrestling Managers (2006, DVD)

Excellent DVD which examines all of the Managers who guided their proteges to stardom in the WWF and later the WWE. Some of the Managers discussed were Golden Boy Arnold Skaaland, Captain Lou Albano, Classie Freddie Blassie, Mr. Fuji, the Grand Wizard, King Curtis Iuakea, Bobby Heenan, Reverend Slick, Sunny and many more. Longtime fans of the sport will certainly enjoy this DVD as much as I did as the archival footage will definitely renew some memories of "significant happenings" in wrestling during the past four decades.

  • great dvd

Instead of watching it on Peacock with ad breaks and internet usage, watch this WWE documentary on a dvd player to watch and dig this 2006 WWE documentary spotlighting some of the WWE's most legendary managers.

  • WWE - The World's Greatest Wrestling Managers (2006, DV

I enjoyed the DVD. I have been a wrestling fan for years and grew up watching many of the managers, some who have since passed away. I do wish that they would have gone onto deeper coverage and featured a few more extras, including more matches, but I still enjoyed the DVD and would recommend it to others.
