    I'm a fan of TOS from the 60's and Still give this a Solid Buy Rating

    The hardest thing about rating STID, is that it follows the 2009 release which generated the highest Star Trek expectations in decades. Before that, the best resurrection of the all-too-short original series was Wrath of Khan in 1982 which gave Trekkies a short-lived but powerful hope followed by some painful cinema releases and an 80’s soap opera television series. The alternate reality plot in 2009 gave authors a much needed freedom to explore new dimensions and STID extends the gap from the original series. Viewers will either see this as refreshing or a sacrilegious violation. One example is to see a Khan without color, since his character was known to be of Eastern origin and was previously played by the very Latin and muy macho Ricardo Montalban but Cumberbatch does not disappoint ...

    Star Wars entertainment never disappoints!

    As a Star Wars fan this one does not disappoint. The Star Wars series has excellent characters, excellent storyline and excellent special effects. Great entertainment for the whole family.

    Good movie with technical problems

    Love the Star Trek movies, including this one. This DVD was new, still sealed. The only problem I had was with the DVD itself in that the number of occurrences of dropped artifacts and/or frozen images was too much (even 1 is disturbing!) but the number and duration was not too much to take away enjoyment of the movie - this is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

    Thin plot. No McCoy. Far too much shoot from the hip James Kirk wild West kind of gambling action packed nonsense.
