    An in depth look at the meanings of the hieroglyphs

    I seem to have this strange interest in the Mayan culture, since according to the ancient people our world is suppose to end in 2012. The earthquake in Japan, and tsunami, wars in Libya and Egypt... makes one wonder if there is any truth to it. So I watched this interesting in depth look at the Mayan code and it's meanings. There weren't any answers to the 2012 thing, but there was no sense of impending doom. Instead Nova tracks how the code came to be discovered, and how the Mayan language has a beauty all its own. And that phonetics are a part of modern language as well as ancient glyphs. It was a fascinating look into a highly intelligent ancient culture. Watch it. It can't hurt to fill your brain with interesting tidbits from history. And if anything, it may dispel the 2012 ...

    Great documentary... this is a shorter version of the two hour original work

    This is a wonderful story of "breaking" one of the greatest mysteries of the 19th through 21st century. And returning a written language to the owners of that language.
