Good value and low noise EQ Pedal

I own several different EQ effects pedals and just had to try this one as having an EQ on my board is important to getting my sound. The only one I won't rate well was one with the sliders that have integral LED lights by a manufacturer that normally makes great effects and had a small EQ that worked well before they re-designed it. That model was noisy and introduced a good amount of background hiss. The reason I mention is that a good EQ does not raise the noise floor is such a way. The Fish & Chips isn't the most quiet EQ I have but it's certainly within an acceptable range for live performances and may even work for some studio applications. Very thoughtfully laid out control sliders and LED to let you know if the effect is on or off. I'm guessing the bypass is buffered which to me is ...

  • Very good but noisier than a MXR 6band eq and quieter than a Boss GE-7 :)

Very good pedal but a little noisier than my MXR 6 band eq.It's instead quieter than a BOSS GE-7. The noise is due to the fact that it boosts some frequencies and it's bigger as you turn up and up the overall output volume. Very good but,due to this noise and the fact that its tone is anyway "thinner" than my MXR, i still keep my MXR 6 eq on the pedalboard as my main eq and keep this danelectro eq always with me, in the case that my MXR should not work during a rehersal or during a live. If you wanna buy an eq,i suggest you to buy and use an MXR 6 eq-the 6 band eq,not the 10 band eq- as the main eq and to buy this danelectro as a backup for the MXR. I mainly use a Fender Telecaster Mexico with Texas Specials as upgraded pickups,a Fender Stratocaster Classic Player 60 ...

  • Why spend more?

The best price to value ratio you will find in an EQ pedal. Zero noise or hiss. Would buy again or as a gift. (Power cable not provided, uses standard 9v pedal plug)

  • A good deal for the money

It's a Dano mini so it's made of plastic, OK? Best used in applications where you won't be constantly plugging and unplugging it since it has the somewhat cheesy PC-mount jacks. It does what it's supposed to do & you can't beat the price. I've even installed this into guitars with excellent results.

  • Great for the money

Does what it claims and is a great low cost investment into building your tone. I would recommend that anyone wanting to explore new sounds start with EQ. Not distortion, overdrive, delay, or anything else. If you want to understand why, buy a low cost we pedal. It's the best way to understand the power of eq and your tone.
