    China's First Emperor (DVD, 2008, 2-Disc Set)

    This 2-disc set is an excellent documentary on the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi. It covers everything from the "Waring States Period" before the unification and then tells the story of Qin Shi Huangdi and how he was able to create one empire ruled by him. It is a fascinating piece of history on how one man could unify an entire people under his rule where generations before him had failed to do so. It also deals with the problems he faced once he had taken power and his quest for his own immortality. The documentary also explores his famous Terracotta army that he had made to join him in the afterlife. The second disc in the set takes a look at the history of the Great Wall and how it came to be, its' purpose and the significance of it to the Chinese people. I would definitely ...
