    telescope

Mainly constructed out of all plastic and incredibly light-weight. Just a strong breeze outside knocked the whole thing over. Hard to use the small finder scope since it's mounted too close to big scope. Also the finder scope mount is for left side of scope only and can not be mounted on the ride side. It's functional, but a beginner scope.

  • a good tool for a budding young scientist.

I confess I have no direct experience with the telescope. I bought it for a friends 13 year old who is off to science camp for the summer. It seemed like a good entry level telescope and apparently it is. In the thank you letter Garrett seemed pleased that it was also useful for near objects (bird watching) as well as more celestial objects. He was also pleased with the software that was included. As a gift it was a hit. The young man I sent it to is 13 as I said but an extremely intelligent 13. If he likes it, safe bet it has some inherent quality of its own I am glad I purchased it. If you have a budding young scientist in your life get him/her one.

  • Perfect for beginners, easy setup and viewing. Love it.

I got this telescope for my wife as a Christmas present in Dec 2014. She has always been in love the stars, planets, comets, etc. After looking around at all the stuff that is available, I decided to purchase the Barska Optics AE10100. I know little to nothing about telescopes, so I did quite a bit of research on them, and this one, for the price seemed like the best deal. It is perfect for beginners like us. Comes with certain features that are available for more expensive scopes, but is still priced very reasonably. It took just a few minutes to set up, and within an hour, we were looking at the the craters on the moon!!! She can't wait till we get to see comets and meteors, and we found on the NASA website certain days and times we will be able to see the International Space Station as ...

  • This is a christmas gift and I am not at libety to tell you if it works or not. It looks just like it is described in the ad and I am really pleased.

After Christmas we will let you know if there is any problems with it. THank you and have a Blessed Day!
