About this product

Product Information

Purpose Driven Romance The last thing singles want is more rules. But if you're looking for an intentional, God-pleasing game plan for finding a future spouse, Joshua Harris delivers an appealing one. A compelling new foreword, an all-new "8 Great Courtship Conversations" section, and updated material throughout makes this five-year revision of the original Boy Meets Girl a must-have! Harris illustrates how biblical courtship--a healthy, joyous alternative to recreational dating--worked for him and his wife. Boy Meets Girl presents an inspiring, practical example for readers wanting to pursue the possibility of marriage with someone they may be serious about. Are you ready for "romance with purpose"? If you're fed up with self-centered relationships that end in disillusionment, it's time to rethink romance. Finding the loving, committed relationship you want shouldn't mean throwing away your hopes, your integrity, or your heart. In Boy Meets Girl , Joshua Harris --the guy who kissed dating goodbye--makes the case for courtship. As old-fashioned as it might sound, courtship is what modern day relationships desperately need. Think of it as romance chaperoned by wisdom, cared for by community, and directed by God's Word. Filled with inspiring stories from men and women who have rediscovered courtship, Boy Meets Girl is honest, romantic, and refreshingly biblical. Keep God at the center of your relationship as you discover how to: * Set a clear course for your romance * Get closer without compromise * Find support in a caring community * Deal with past sexual sin * Make the right decisions about your future New! Courtship Conversations Eight ideas for great dates that will help grow and guide your relationship. Story Behind the Book "I wrote I Kissed Dating Goodbye to challenge singles to drop the worldly approach to serial dating and reconsider the way they pursued romance in light of God's Word. Since then, I've received letters asking questions like, So, what comes between friendship and marriage? and, How can you know when you are ready for marriage? Boy Meets Girl answers those questions. Now as a happily married man I can look back on my courtship with Shannon and see from personal experience that God is faithful. If you trust Him enough to wait on romance in dating, He will lovingly guide you as you pursue it in courtship...right to that wonderful moment when you kneel together at the altar." -- Joshua Harris

  • Boy Meets Girl

Boy Meets Girl is an excellent book on courtship how to's. It addresses the fundamental difference between dating and courtship, as well as the Biblical reasons for courtship. It is the sequel to I Kissed Dating Goodbye. In I Kissed Dating Goodbye, Joshua states the case for Biblical courtship & gives his journey to making that decision in his own life. Boy Meets Girl picks up where the former left off. Briefly restating the reasons not to date, then plunging right into what to do when you feel like God is ready for you to find a mate. The advice is invaluable in a world of fast food type dating. Sometimes we choose mates for all the wrong reasons & mostly out of God's perfect timing for our lives.I was blown away by Josh's choice for a wife!! I had a certain picture of who he would ...

  • Excellent book absolutely essential for our young people.

This book is an excellent overview of Christian courtship and marriage preparation. It is very much grounded in reality and is not stodgy or close-minded about sexuality. Josh shares that each young person is unique and special and deserves a spouse that thinks so, too. Everyone should read this before they make the mistake of wasting their "first times" on a boyfriend/girlfriend who they could very easily discern does not love them. It's easy to like a person's looks or personality, but character should be the first thing that you allow to draw your eye and heart to a prospective heartmate. Looks and personality don't go far in a fire.

  • Great book! Has practical applications and good stories

I usually do not read books on relationships. However, I could not put this book down. Joshua does a great job of meshing Biblical principles with practical advice and real examples. One of my favorite passages is the one on revisiting the scene of the cross. So powerfully true! Overall, the book is very well written, it has great advice, and I'm loving the date ideas at the end of the book!

  • Courtship Information

This book provides clear, easy to follow information on how to date with a purpose. It is well written and practical. As a parent, I highly recommend you read this book with your teenagers, especially if you enjoyed I Kissed Dating Goodbye. As a mentor to those considering marriage, I recommend each couple read this book together, as it encourages Christians to strive for a pure relationship while courting. Even singles who know they eventually want to get married would benefit from reading Boy Meets Girl.

  • Very good book!

I recommend this book to anyone interested in pursuing a relationship with the opposite sex, that you hope will lead toward marriage, in a God honoring (Biblical) way. Josh has a great way of explaining what the Bible has to say about "courting" or dating along with adding in his own examples of what he and Shannon did to fit their relationship into the relationships they already had with God, (instead of fitting God into their relationship...). He pointed out many areas/ points I never would have thought of besides in hindsight. very good book!!!
