  • an elegant work on first love

Call Me By Your Name tells its own delightfully nuanced story while also inviting you to remember the wonder and ultimate sadness of one's first love. the slim volume appears to be readable in one or two sittings--for sure doable in a ny to cali flight; the beauty of both story and its telling, however, promote contemplation and thinking back on one's own first love. few of us are as bright or insightful as elio but, for good or for bad, our first love will always be with us.

  • Very, Very moving novel

I was held spellbound by the book and somewhat apprehensive that the two lovers would not come to a happy ending. That was true to an extent. It grabbed me emotionally and I am stil reacting to the book. It helped that I saw clips on U Tube so could put faces on the persons in the book. The book will linger with me for a long time, and I look forward to viewing the Movie shortly.

  • Reading and Responding to the emotion of Call Me By Your Name

Very well written book/ emotional story of growing relationship between a graduate student snd his professor's son when the student comes to Italy for a 6 week visit with the professor's family. The film based on this novel is very movingly filmed and the writing of the book gives a fully realized characterization of the principal personalities. The book is very well written and stays with the reader long after it ois finished.
