A Simple Twist of Fate
A Simple Twist of Fate is a story of love that has twists and turns and is heart warming. If you have not seen it, it is worth watching. The DVD came as described. The disc was in mint condition, and the case a tad used, but didn't look different than any other case I have on my shelf that I have previously watched a few times. This was a very good purchase.

A Simple Twist of Fate
This is one of Steve Martin's best roles. Martin wins your heart my pulling on your emotional strings at the start of the movie with his excitement about being a father and is informed by his wife that the baby is his best friend's; a fellow college instructor. Devastated, he becomes a recluse and puts his money into gold coins. While on a depression drinking binge, he's robbed of thes valuable coins and pretty much a struggling carpenter. A baby girl wonders into his home, he takes her in and becomes a very loving father. After the young, and very intelligent, girl becomes grade school age, her real father, who has known where she was all of the years, is a high level politician and decides that he now wants to go to court and provide her with the wealthy life he can offer. The politician's wife is unable to have children and was unaware of his long going affair with the daughter's drug addict mother, but supports the politician's effort to reclaim his daughter. The little girl is torn, but loves Martin and must take the stand in court. As the final decision is about to made the coins are discovered along with the politician's brother's remains and Martin gets to keep her. The movie was well casted and excellent performances from all. Each scene's camera angles, color, wardrobe enhances the ups and downs the relationships and personalities of the cast allowing the viewer to relate to each: youl'' be passionate about who you are routing for and who you hate. Good movie for all ages and significant acting abilities are revealed. Some tear up and some may not. I cried.

Just a cute adorable movie!
Okay, I just watched this movie last night and was hesitant, because I rarely see Steve Martin in these tender type of rolls, but thought I'd give it a try! It was a little slow in the beginning, and maybe a little bit hard to follow at first, but before long, I was understanding what was going on and actually really enjoyed Steve Martin in this role as a father. He was excellent and very believable! This is just a great story about 2 lonely people coming together to become a family and how they get through their struggles together. This was a very touching movie. I was a little confused at the rating, because there was very little lanquage, no nudity, no violence, etc...I was pleasantly surprised.Okay, I just watched this movie last night and was hesitant, because I rarely see Steve Martin in these tender type of rolls, but thought I'd give it a try! A wonderful movie
I loved this movie when first I saw it but could not remember the name for quite a while. I was finally able to locate it and purchase it to add to my collection. It has a classic theme and is heart warming and very engaging on a number of levels.

I watched this movie years ago and recently purchased it on ebay. This movie runs you through all emotions. Parts will make you cry while other scenes are heart warming. Steve Martin certainly proves himself an excellent actor in this charming family classic. The message in this film is how to treat people you love with respect. This is one of those movies you will remember forever. Above all else gather your family, pop some corn, and grab a beverage this film is completely age-friendly from 1-100 years old.
