Michael Ritchie revisits the satirical territory of 1975's SMILE with this hysterical comedy about professional football, New Age lifestyles, and bizarre health remedies. Teammates and roommates Billy Clyde "B.C." Puckett (Burt Reynolds) and Marvin "Shake" Tiller (Kris Kristofferson) find their lives upended when they both begin to fall for the same woman, Barbara Jane "B.J." Bookman (Jill Clayburgh). Making matters even worse is the dangerous knowledge that B.J. just so happens to be their coach's daughter. Eventually, things get even weirder when Shake finds himself falling under the hypnotic spell of a wacky cult leader. All the while, the team is trying to win a game on the field, even if the players can't seem to keep their lives together when the pads are off.Ritchie's sensitive approach to the potentially two-dimensional material is what makes SEMI-TOUGH such a rewarding viewing experience. This, coupled with the superb performances by his all-star cast (most notably Kristofferson and Reynolds), as well as the toned-down script by Walter Bernstein (adapted from Dan Jenkins's novel), adds even greater poignancy to the lighthearted proceedings.

The item took 22 days to arrive. I am not pleased with the packaging. The cd was sent wrapped in the cover art and track list information papers. The track list and art are bent and covered in tape, mailing address info and stamps. You should have at least wrapped it in paper. The disc is covered in scratches. The description said "Disc is in Like New condition" Luckily it was only a few dollars.

We have NO control over what USPS does. As for the packaging, the artwork was included FOR FREE. It's nonsensical to complain about something that you got for nothing; that's highly irrational behaviour. Most people in fact prefer the artwork, over plain paper. You are BANNED from all our listings, my friend!

Your listing says that there is free 2 to 4 day shipping. The listing also said that the cd was in like new condition which it was not. It also says you are from New York while the cd came from Michigan. I wish I had looked at the other feedback before purchasing from you. You will not waste my time again.
