As Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) owns up to being Iron Man before the world press, Anton Vanko lies dying in Russia. Years ago, Anton worked with Tony's father to create a new source of energy. But greed got the best of Anton, and now as he slips away, his son, Ivan (Mickey Rourke), vows to make Tony pay for the sins of his father. Meanwhile, Tony fends off efforts from smarmy Senator Stern} (Garry Shandling) and military weapons expert Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) to divulge the secrets of his powerful Iron Man suit. The powers that be are concerned that Tony's technology may fall into the wrong hands -- fears that are soon confirmed when the cocky billionaire entrepreneur is confronted in front of the entire world by Ivan, who has built his own weapon using stolen Stark blueprints. Later, as Lt. Rhodes (Don Cheadle) wrestles with the decision to personally deliver Tony's suit to the military, Ivan finds an unlikely ally in the quest to destroy Iron Man; Stark Industries legal consultant Natalie Rushman (Scarlett Johansson) reveals her connection to Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson); and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) takes on some new responsibilities.

    Great Sequel and a great movie

    Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark in this sequel to the blockbuster Iron Man. This movie takes up right at the end of the first film with Stark announcing he is Iron Man and goes on from there. The plot revolves around the technology of the Iron Man suit and who should own or control the technology. The government wants it, foreign governments want it and so do all the other defense contractors, the chief being Hammer Industries headed by Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell). As the movie begins we find out that Tony Starks father had a partner in the design of the Arc Reactor, Anton Vanko (Yevgeni Lazarev). As Anton dies his son Ivan (Mickey Rourke) sets out to get even with Tony Stark for his father destroying his family. This is a great movie and a great sequel. Most of the characters ...

    Iron Man 2 (DVD, 2010,)

    While Iron Man 2 may not be perfect, it is a very solid and fun sequel. Improvements include better action sequences and some great characters added to the franchise. Unfortunately there is a lot going on here and even though it isn't hard to follow, there isn't enough time to give each sub plot the proper screen time it deserves. Oddly enough for a super hero film, I think they could have edited some of the talky scenes down and added a little more Iron Man action. A good example of this is when we meet Natasha Romanova she isn't given much to do and I found myself wondering if she was going to be The Black Widow on screen. She is only in one action sequence(a great one with one of the funniest moments in the film)late in the movie and she and Nick Fury are really only there to set up ...

    Iron Man 2

    The second installment of the Iron Man series. It has elements that are really interesting. The special effects are really great. I was disappointed that they changed out his best friend for this movie. Not that I have anything against Don Cheedle. It was more that they threw a monkey wrench into the mix and I didn't appreciate it. Mickey Roark did make a good bad guy, although the story line was a little weak in this area. All in all it was a pretty entertaining movie.
