Timeless Stories in a Great Film

These are timeless stories from the Old Testament that never lose relevance. Excellent acting, cinematography, and diegetic effects that enhance each scene. For example, the sounds of the ark swaying back and forth during the deluge and the animals becoming unsettled brings the story to life. This is a worthwhile film that I highly recommend.

  • BEWARE...

I purchased this DVD because I remember watching this movie on TV when I was young. I thought it would be a nice family movie for our children to watch with us. But I was very wrong. If you truly know the Scriptures and value them you will find much fault with this movie. A LOT of sensuality was added to the text, which I think is how the unsaved do see certain parts of the Bible. Just because Adam and Eve wore no clothing in the garden doesn't mean we must show almost everything on screen as this movies does. We don't need to see Sarai's cleavage and her private romantic moments with Abram to understand that she was a fair woman as the Bible says. It's clear that this movie was intended to shock and push boundaries for its time--all in the name of the Bible. ...

  • The Bible - A look at The Biginning

This movie is very well done and is faithful to God's word. The creation account is accurate and is well acted. Eve is very touching as a mother loving her infant child. The fall from grace was accurately displayed, with woman being deceived and leading man into downfall; with man first blaming the woman, the the Lord Himself (had he thought about the serpent, he would have blamed him as well) and their expulsion from the garden of Eden. The flood account was delightful and wonderfully done with director John Houston in the role of Noah as the faithful and unwavering man of God. He almost made it a comedy in places, giving us a very pleasant chuckle here and there. Way to go! An excellent view of their lives for about a year, living in a large barn / zoo and working 7 days a week to tend ...

  • KJV Referenced movie that edifies and is accurate.

No fancy graphics or extra subplots for making this like modern 'entertaining' movies. The scriptures are interesting enough and even emotional when portrayed as John Huston has done in The Bible. The movie shows a very good scene of how Adam was created from the dust of the Earth that conveys God's hand in creating from nothing. The whole Noah story is very impressive with the huge ark that you see Noah and his family build while understanding the "without delay" attitude of Noah acting on God's instructions. The movie moves to the story of King Nimrod and the tower of bable with another impressive setting of thousands of workers building the tower while offering a bird's eye view of the workers and citizens spreading apart once God confounded their language. The images of thousands of ...

  • A decent movie

I have not seen the actual DVD yet, but it was bought to replace a VHS tape of the same movie. I remember it as being very good, and biblically sound.
