About this product

Product Information

This highly original and stimulating introduction to ancient Greece uses the history of eleven major Greek cities to illuminate the most important and informative aspects of Greek history. The book spans a surprisingly long time period, ranging from Cnossus in Crete around 1400 BC to the establishment of Constantinople in 324 AD. And within this span, Cartledge highlights the role of such renowned cities as Athens (birthplace of democracy) and Sparta, as well as Argos, Thebes, Syracuse in Sicily, and Alexandria in Egypt.

The game I bought was brand new and sealed, just as advertised. The game got to me quickly and was packaged with care. I have no complaints. This is a hard enough game to find the North American version for, let alone a new copy of it, but I'm glad I found one. Thanks!

  • Very Good Summary of Anient Greece

This is an easy reading book about ancient Greece which covers the centuries of history by focusing on eleven major cities. It is a slim book and only scratches the surface. I enjoyed the book but like an appetizer, I am waiting for the main course.

  • Good reading.

    Interesting,,, Thanks.
