Believe it or not, it's a CUTE sloth book!
This is one of the favorite books in our house, and for good reason. In addition to telling the story of a (very cute) sloth, there are a few lessons to be learned here. Like most of Eric Carle's books, this one has something special in the back. There's a page of exotic animals that kids aren't used to seeing in books, so they are fascinated by the array of animals included. In addition, this book has a forward written by none other than Jane Goodall! She explains her love of sloths and the reasons for their endangered status. It's an inspirational note about preserving nature and appreciating all animal species.
