  • Celestron 93522 Dual Axis Motor Drive for astrophotography.

Motors are easy to install and control. When accurately polar-alined, they allow unguided exposures for up to 60 seconds. Actually I assume that if CG-4 mount was a little more sturdier, this motor drive could allow several minutes of unguided exposures. The motors run on 6Volts DC, the battery pack is included, however if you have a 6V car lighter adapter, powering the motors could become much easier. I suspect that even regular 5V USB powerbank could do the job since the motor drive power consumption is relatively low, mine runs at about 500mW. In order to provide the smoothest ride for your telescope, remember to counter-balance it in both axis. It could make a real change, as I found out the hard way :) Clear skies! Denis

  • Mo Go

Works as it is supposed to. I used it on the Astroview mount which is the same mount, different brand. The clutches need a little tweaking to work well, but that was expected. They are not really needed given the mount has clutches too, unless you need to also use the manual slow motion knobs.

  • Universal 2 channel 6-volt motor motion drive controller!

I needed a new motor drive controller for my generic drives added to my meade lx70 mount, and this celestron drive controller functioned perfectly with motors it was not designed for. IT is safe to assume that this controller is universal for all drive motors of similar voltage This controller operates on 6 volts with a simple dual output like a 2 channel amplifier. Works excellent

  • Does the job ...

Easy enough to install but I wouldn't trust the clutch. I had to adjust the ra drive gears so they would mesh properly. Who's idea was it to design the system to run on 6 volts? 12 would have been much more convient. Most of the unit is exposed to the elements. For the price, I think it could have been thought out better. Next thing to address is how long it will last. Clear skys. Bob. Durand mi
