  • Hysterically FUNNY Laugh Out Loud Movie

    I was extremely offended initially when this movie first started as it was about a person found dead/Bernie/the Star, who before passing away had given a huge party in his rich mansion. The 2 young adults who "found him" were trying to hide & pretend he was still alive (with good cause to them) & have the party go on as usual. After getting over this initial shock & offense, the tongue in cheek style led me to continue to watch despite my initial offense. This movie slowly began to pull me in as the charades continued to make people think rich, shallow Bernie was still partying & having fun as always with people who barely or did not know him anyway & most just there for the free food & drinks. They Put sunglasses on him after taking/walking him to the beach & had him wave HI to the girls ...

    Millionaire executive Bernie Lomax is much like the mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent in that they both hold big secrets that everyone else should be able to figure out. The difference, though, is that Clark Kent is Superman, and Bernie Lomax is, well, dead. Just as no one has ever figured out that Superman is Clark Kent minus the glasses, no one in Weekend at Bernie’s notices that the silent, still, Bernie is no longer among the living. The premise for Weekend at Bernie’s, an amusing situation comedy from, improbably, the director of First Blood, is so ridiculous it can only make you smile…or shake your head in disappointment.
