    Not actually a hub, rather a switch

    Labeled as a workstation hub but it's actually a switch. I confirmed this both through other reviews of this same model and via a packet capture using Wireshark. As a switch it performs as advertised, no complaints.

    Small, old style, hub. Perfect for network traffic analysis.

    I needed a portable old style hub so I could see network traffic on my diagnostic sniffer (Wireshark). This hub was perfect. It's very small so I was able to keep it in the same case as my sniffer laptop. It paid for itself the first time I used it. I've heard that this review is showing up for unrelated items. To be clear, I'm talking about a Linksys, model EW5HUB, Ethernet HUB. If the item you're looking at is a SWITCH, this review does not apply.
