Star Trek Time Travel
Starting out with two Original episodes including "City On The Edge Of Forever" one of my all time favorites, this series has promise. From there we have five Next Generation episodes, including "Cause And Effect", "Times Arrow" & "All Good Things" good stuff. Two Deep Space Nine episodes, Little Green Men & Trials and Tribble-ations, you can't go wrong with those two episodes even if you never followed the series. And two Voyager episodes each 2 hours long. Year of Hell & Endgame. Very nice mix. Overall I enjoyed it a lot. A little disapointed that some of the better "Time" episodes weren't included. I believe there are enough Time episodes to put out "Time Travel II". The following are NOT on this CD collection: Voyager: Shattered - Futures End I & II - Flashback Deep Space Nine - ... Time travel seems involved in ALL Trek series!
I like Star Trek. I've watched it in one form or another since it first aired on NBC back in the mid-1960's. I used to watch it, lying on the floor in front of our Color TV console with my mother [who was a giant Sci-Fi fan - at the time]. Some episodes are good, some great, some not so good, some a little-bit 'preachy'. The 1960's were like that. But the show, as a whole was ground-breaking television which has evolved into a sub-culture that has really gone main-stream since the year 2000. As far as episodes go, I always enjoyed the Time-Travel episodes. I also liked the Alternate Realities episodes [although I never really grouped them together like that until Deep-Space 9 had it's flirtation with the Mirror Universe and then Enterprise went 'all-out' and made a couple of episodes ... I also grew to enjoy the "Deeply Klingon" episodes. I tried to group Together "Yesterday's Enterprise" with "Klingon Civil War" [Tasha Yar's Daughter - Sela] episodes as well as other Klingon episodes onto 1 8-hour VHS tape [but it took time for the episodes to be on your cable channels and for you to remember to tape them.. that was then. Now you have Sets being groups [across the spectrum of series] into catagories that "mirror" my own [and alot of other Trekkers] tastes. So, a Time-Travel set seems to make excellent sense! Time Travel episodes are very interesting. They are popular, and they are some of the most sought-out episodes. Especially true about "City on the Edge of Forever" [Hugo Award winner for SciFi] where ethics and right-and-wrong are laid open and run rough-shod over. I had not seen some episodes [only heard about them] such as "Little Green Men" where Quark, Rom, and Nog go back to 1947 Roswell NM to become Area 51's first residents! This gets all the time-travel episodes onto one set for someone seeking catagorization, like me! I enjoy this set, alot. Sincerely, Jim Madden Full-time trekker!
