Beautiful, but too many bugs
Still beautiful, but it still has too many bugs. Jowood has 3 patches, but when you download them, they all tell you that the patches can't go into a file that they say isn't there. Fileplanet has the best patch, but after you download it you can only play it by setting your sceen to 600x800, and the graphic details to low. For a game with that much detail, thats heartbreaking. Game is still having problems with the fact that you can walk from one side of the map to another, (except at some of the places you used to be able to, like Farling) but you can't get certain people to even react to you at all unless you do the long job. In short, if you want to walk in beauty, fine. If you want to play, go somewhere else..Still beautiful, but it still has too many bugs. Gothic 3 is fixed.
The patches included in this edition, along with the community patch, make this game very stable. It has not crashed a single time since I started playing it a month ago. This is a great game set in an expansive, immersive, open world. Sword-fighting is a bit clunky (but doable), but missile weapons and spells are sweet. The graphics are a bit glitchy when I turn fast, but I don't know if it is my system or the game. I have not seen this effect in other games. I found the story very engaging. Despite the shortcomings, this game is a blast! I give it a four . . . out of five.The patches included in this edition, along with the community patch, make this game very stable. LOVED this GAME!!!
Gothic 3 builds upon the locations and story of the past two Gothic games to bring real depth and excitement to this world of swords and magic. It came out at about the same time Oblivion did, and the comparisons I read (and agree with) is that Oblivion was a larger world but stocked with castles and locations that repeated themselves. Gothic 3 is a bit smaller but every single hill you go over will bring a new view and location. I did not get the feeling that I had been here before when I came up to a strange castle like I did in Oblivion. Great game over all. Not enough games in this genra in my opinion. The only real issues with the game is a few memory bugs that cause the game to freeze ocasionally but there are patches out there for that.... Well worth a play.... great game!!!!!

don't waste your money
This game does not even come with a small book/guide to tell you how to move your character, ect.That is pretty much the theme with the game -you get a large map that labels regions and are sent to East coast to find 1 item.?!they give no clue as to where.The graphics are nice but that is about it. Save your money and go buy Morrowind.
