    Dead Watch by John Sanford

    I like this author's books. They are engaging and enjoyable. I'm only a few pages into this book but it looks as good as his other work. Each of this author's books are stand alone, but they frequently have some of the same main characters so when I'm reading, I already have a clear picture of some characters. I really like being able to have books that I can trust. This author, John Sanford, was a prolific author which allows me to have a whole list of books than I can count on to be enjoyable reads.

    Dead Watch

    At first, I was disappointed to find out that Sanford wasn't turning out a book in his previous 2 series that I avidly await (Lucas Davenport in the "Prey" novels or the Kidd novels). BUT... if you are a Sanford fan you will love this book. It is just as entertaining as any of his books- not a disappointment at all! I would rate it as highly as my favorite "Prey" books. If you haven't read Sanford before, you will enjoy your first taste of his characters. This book is set in the political scene in Washington (not usually something I'm crazy about). BUT... the main character is a strong protagonist who is a very intelligent mover and shaker with his own code of behavior (like Lucas and Kidd) and he slices through the Washington political crowd like a hot knife through butter.
