Stands up under test
Its better than other products as it does not bend or break under pressure to remove weeds. It only removes the weed but does not have the discharge feature that some of the newer weed remover products on the market have. The true upside is that it does not bend or break under pressure to remove weeds as I experienced using the supposed metal shafted design with discharge mechanism. I hope that in the future this grampa's weeder will be able to include this feature as well without compromising its integrity and durabilityIts better than other products as it does not bend or break under pressure to remove weeds. It doesn't very often get the root. Most of the time, it breaks the dandelion off near the top, or doesn't grip the stem tightly enough to get any of it. It needs ridges or barbs to grip the root, needs less spacing between the prongs to prevent the root from slipping through, and probably needs longer prongs. The fact that you don't have to bend or stoop is offset by the many times the weed is still in the ground. You still have to bend or stoop to get the missed ones. If this has been around many many years, it should have been improved by now.It doesn't very often get the root. The weedeater for grandpa
First off, mine broke a part of a tine the first time I used it. I may have got one with a bad casting. Only about an inch or so broke off and it still worked well on weeds like dandelions and others that the roots spread out. Stab it in and pull back on the handle and the weeds come out! It is that simple. However, it does NOT work well on things like small trees that have a long tap root. It does not grasp them well and it is not strong enough to break them loose, but I guess they are really not weeds, are they?First off, mine broke a part of a tine the first time I used it. Nice quality weeding tool that helps eliminate back pain and arm strain
I'm impressed with the products simplicity, quality and ease of use. I purchased this after getting some tendonitis and lower back pain from pulling too may weeds. Grandpa's Weeder eliminates most of the pulling and bending over. While it does a great job on small and medium sized weeds, it doesn't always get up the larger crab grass clumps. It will eliminate the center of the crab grass clump, but some pulling may be needed to get the rest of the grass out. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.I'm impressed with the products simplicity, quality and ease of use. Dandy for removing dandelions!
Cleared an entire 70' X 75' field of dandelions in about an hour. They were heavily dispersed throughout the yard. The tool is high quality and easy to use. I have already recommended it to family and friends. Our neighbor saw me working with it and was immediately sold on the product. I'm retired with some back issues but the weeder was easy on my body!
