NeatReceipts is a portable scanner and digital filing system that helps you manage all of your paperwork on the computer. NeatReceipts includes NeatWorks scanner software, which identifies and extracts the important information from receipts, business cards and documents, and automatically organizes it for you. All scanned documents can be searched by keyword, so you can find exactly what you need in very little time. This portable scanner is ultra lightweight, weighing only 10.6 oz.. It also scans in color, grayscale, or black and white with a resolution up to 600 dpi, which ensures you will extract all image details from your documents. With a speed of 3 to 4 receipts per minute, the NeatRecepits device can scan documents from 1 x 1'', to 8.5 x 30'' in size. The device is USB powered, so no external power supply is needed, making it a great option if you need to carry it along with your laptop.

    Good scanner

    Software is outdated so had to use a 3rd party pdf scanner, but that was easy enough to set up once I figured out I had to use that instead of the software that came with the product.

    Great product if you can get around the problems.

    I really do like this neat receipts scanner, however there are a few things that have to be understood before being able to use this product efficently. First, when you do scan, the receipt seems to go into a 'document' area instead of a 'receipt' area, and this a problem if you really want to use this as a receipt scanner. Each receipt must be transferred into the 'receipt' area. Second, the receipts do scan very slowly, you only get a couple of receipts a minute to scan... Third, you can not search receipts as they say on TV by keyword on the receipt itself. You can only search by what description you actually type into the description header, NOT by any word located on the receipt.. Fourth, and more important, 80% of the time, the receipt ...

    One ofthe best and handy OCR scanners I have run across

    Great scanner and quite easy to use, at least with the Mac software, with very good image. But, I was disappointed in its inability to recognize "subtotal" and/or "total" and came up with totally wrong numbers in about 3 out of 10 times, even if those words were very clearly readable. It got the dates right in almost all cases even from poor originals and, amazingly, did quite good job reading store logos. I think the "analyzing" process can be improved by "teaching" the OCR to recognizing these words in particular. The results were very easily transferable to Excel spreadsheets. All in all, I found this scanner quite useful.

    Good product for filing your papers, but not so good for accounting.

    Overall, I am pleased with this product. It is a great idea. I wasn't impressed with the cost compared to it's limitation. I didn't want to pay twice as much or more to purchase a larger version of the same product, with just a few amenities. It is difficult to learn how to get your input into the excel program to use totals in a report. It is limited in instruction. Overall I am satisfied, because I bought the NeatReceipts Scanner and not the Larger product for the money.

    Don't know if pleased or dissapointed yet.

    Lets be honest, I haven't tried this unit yet, it arrived as a mac unit I ordered a windows unit, I soon found out the machine was the same it needed different software than what was provided. The neat company sent me a link and I downloaded the necessary files. But I am afraid to use it, this is the second unit I ordered from two different companies, the 1st one didn't function at all, the second one came from The Neat Co. but came labeled as the wrong devise (Mac instead of windows) and although the software was supplied in a link I requested the CD version of the software (5-6 weeks ago)i was told it would arrive soon and until that arrives I am loath to try it to avoid any additional dissapointment. I am going to have to get over my apprehension as I bought the unit for tax ...
