  • This DVD was a lot more informative than I thought it would be.

    The DVD is basically a lecture given by David Blume about Alcohol as a fuel for cars in particular. It helped me to understand the history of alcohol as an internal combustion engine fuel. A lot of debate about alcohol centers around the Energy Return on Energy Investment for corn ethanol. However, the best thing I got out of this is that other agricultural products such as sugar cane and sugar beets, etc., can have a far greater EROEI than corn. Also, in many important ways, Alcohol is a far better fuel than gasoline as it is cleaner and more efficient. Also it gives insights about how the oil industry, with huge amounts of monetary influence, has historically and currently repressed public debate and information about alcohol as a fuel.
