This DVD reveals how Sho’s maid unearths the borrowers and leaves no stone unturned to get rid of them. In "The Secret World of Arrietty", escape is the only solution and the strong-spirited borrowers manage to defy death by resilience. Inspired by his little friends, Sho is motivated to hope for his survival and even at their farewell the unique friends exchange beautiful remembrances.     Best Borrowers movie ever, and a true work of art. Rich in detail and color, with lighting effects that give amazing depth and realism to every scene. The characters are portrayed well. I would never have thought of setting the story in Japan, but it works beautifully. I love traditional Japanese architecture, and I love Borrowers, and they go together perfectly.

    The Secret World of Arrietty is a beautiful combination of pure fantasy and romantic love.

    Of the many Ghibli Studio films I've watched recently, this is my favorite. Instead of action-filled plots and bizarre images, this has a story of what is, at heart, frustrated love. But it is not unrequited love, as both the lonely young boy and Arrietty quite obviously love each other, but they exist in very different worlds, and can never be together. How they try to help each other escape the dangers they face and how they care for each other makes a beautiful story.
