They can fly at twice the speed of sound and attack other planes as well as weapons on the ground. The F-16 is possibly the most versatile of the United States Air Force fighter jets. The nickname of this amazing jet is explained in the book-- "Pilots say F-16s are fast and deadly like viper snakes." What will impress the reader with this book is Bill Sweetman's ability to explain the mechanics and uses of the plane in just a few pages. The many photographs show the plane from various angles, enhancing the information provided. While other volumes may give greater detail, this entry in the "War Planes" series is an excellent starting point. As with the other books in the series, a glossary and a website section are provided. For the beginning reader and researcher, this book is excellent.
