Sweet feeling when the two lights kiss!

I pluck hard, so it takes a second for the harmonics to settle down, but then it is fast and accurate. Sweet feeling when the two lights kiss! I have only used it a few times, so I am going to do the obvious and learn to pluck lighter when tuning. The key signature letters are bold and easy to read, but my tired old eyes have trouble with the flat & Sharp symbols. Packaging and action is standard Boss excellence. I had to laugh at the "Is it enjoyable?" question. Yes, we just live to tune up the old axe!

  • Tuner works great for what I needed at my workplace

I bought this to tune my guitar at my workplace and to replace an old TU-12 that stopped working. I know that clip-on's are what most people use these days and they cost less (I use one for my ukulele), but I didn't want to bother putting one on then taking it off every time I took the guitar out of its bag or put it back in. My amp and pedals are under a desk and the bright LED's make it easy to read plus with the tuner on, no sound comes out of the amp which is a bonus feature that the clip on's can't match. I power the pedal with a 9v power adapter so I don't have to worry about the batteries dying when I'm trying to tune my guitar. I also like the fact that the TU-3 works similar to my TU-16 in that I don't have to press a button each time I want to tune a different string it auto ...

  • Durable and reliable in your effects chain

I bought this because I wanted a more durable tuner that I can rely on in my effects chain so I won't have to unplug to tune. I have a Sabine STX-1100 which cost about 40-50 bucks but that is plastic and doesn't have a footswitch. Plus, if it got accidentally stepped on it would break. So I bought a Beringer TU-300 which is also plastic but is a stompbox configuration for about $25. It worked pretty well for a while in my chain but eventually after about a year the wall outlet power adapter socket wore and would intermittently lose contact which would cause popping and unreliable operation of my whole effects chain. So, I used it for a while out of the loop and now it seems to have a hard time even picking up the guitar signal. That said, I then needed a higher end more ...

  • Same GREAT Boss quality

I bought the older version of this fine tuner over 30 years ago and it just started to give me some issues regarding the analog V/U meters. Not bad for over 30 years of use. This new version has all the excellent features of my older version and some new added features such as a beep sound when your tuning is spot on. Boss knew not to remove any features which was smart. I love this tuner and highly recommend it.

  • The last tuner pedal you'll ever have to buy

I bought the pedal at the urging of my friend and bandmate. I'd been wanting one for awhile and decided to risk my wife's wrath and do it. It's very easy to use, and I like the half-step-increment tune up/down option. The only thing I don't like is getting to the battery, but I'm also getting a daisy-chain power cord, so that won't be a problem (I kept leaving it plugged in, which will drain yer batteries quick). It also tends to pick up other strings (it'll flash back and forth between the one you want and another string) but I just helf my hand on the other five while I picked the one I wanted. I had a Fender pedal (two of them, really) and neither one held up very well; my buddy's pedal has been going strong for a good long while (at least ...
