About this product

Product Information

Need for Speed: ProStreet brings the underground street-racing scene into the light with sanctioned competitions held across the globe. Multiple events are held on such real-world tracks as Tokyo's Shuto Expressway, Willow Springs, and the Autobahn. The goal throughout each point-to-point or closed circuit course is to be crowned "street king" by defeating rivals in drag, grip, drift, and speed challenges. A wide assortment of cosmetic and performance enhancements are available to tune cars, and a real-time damage system means prized vehicles can actually be totaled during races.

Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game allow users to custom design their rides on the Internet and then save their "blueprints" to either their Xbox Live Gamertag or PS3 ID for use in races. Another new online feature is the ability to create custom challenges called "race days," where players set the location, race type, car classes, and other variables before sending out invitations to friends. ProStreet includes licensed car models from such auto manufacturers as Nissan, Subaru, BMW, Ford, Audi, Acura, Chrysler, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Volkswagen.

    Great Game

I use to play this game on the Wii when it first came out and I loved it and so did my brother and even my dad who's not much into video games and recently bought it for Xbox 360 and it's even better and I can't wait to beat it again. The graphics are great but it would be nicer if the car selection was better and had more super cars

  • good game need for speed rocks

Now I must admit upfront that I have not spent much time with the recent NFS titles - the last one I played for a considerable time was NFS: Underground, and I've only sampled Most Wanted and Carbon for a little bit. Yet even with my limited experience, I can only ask - is this really a Need for Speed title? The game retains the concept of "street racing" by presenting a game with customized versions of normal road cars - usually Japanese import cars or US muscle cars, as seen on previous NFS titles, and tosses in some true supercars as well. However, the underlying concept of Need for Speed - the illegal races on public roads - has been tossed overboard. Yes, some early NFS titles had some races on closed roads and tracks, but as far back as I can remember, the critical ...

  • NFS ProStreet

Need for Speed ProStreet tried to change the arcade street racing aspect that made the series popular for a more subdue simulation track racing feel. The main task of the game is to become the king of the track and show the current king who's been talking trash where he belongs. The main types of racing include Grip, Drift, Speed, & Drag. Within each of the types of races are some subset races ex. Drag = 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, and wheelie competition. To advance throughout the game you must attend different events and win to unlock the next set of events. As you win an event you get to pick from 5 cards to win bonuses which range from cash, repair markers, to parts for your car. After you beat a track you have an option to either goto the map and advance to the next race or stay ...

  • Highly Addictive

I originally rented this game to see if it was something worth buying. I played it until the next morning. Never has a game been so addictive, not even the previous versions were this fun. You'll keep telling yourself "Just one more race" in an endless race to have the fastest, best looking car. I rate a good instead of excellent because of the lack of exterior modeling capabilities and ability to save car exteriors when switching blueprint types. I would like to see more hoods, body kits, and paint options. Midnight Club is far superior in this sense, but NFS Pro Street wins hands down on the race options.

  • NFS ProStreet - Not like Carbon, but a great NFS game!

I purchased this game because it is the newest installment to the Need for Speed Series which all the games to this point have been excellent. My only concern was the fact that the developers changed the game. In the past game, NFS Carbon, you were a street racer looking for revenge and you raced in the streets but in this game you pack up your cars and head out to the track to race at events. However, this game did take me by surprise! I have enjoyed playing the game very much and have found the replay value to be very high!!! Even though I still prefer the street racing type of game, this one is great.
