  • Vintage cartoons

Lots of cartoons most of which I have never seen dating back to 1917. Content is a far cry from what you see in so-called "cartoons" these days. A lot of them taught you life lessons, and all of them left you in laughter and/or with a good feeling about yourself, and life in general. I'd like to see more of them digitized and marketed, especially Disney cartoons. My only dislike is that when they digitized them, they cropped off a lot on all 4 sides. In some cases, important views at the edges were not seen. Disappointing. Mostly, I am happy with the purchase.

  • ultimate 150 cartoon festival

This product is hardly "ultimate", because there are no classic Warner Bro's, MGM, or Disney cartoons, but it does have many very entertaining cartoons from smaller companies. The best are the really old ones, from the 1920's (possibly earlier) that are black and white and barely have sound, because they were made for adult audiences, and do not have the excessive cuteness that makes others strictly for children. It's also interesting to see the "Alice" programs made by the young Walt Disney that combine animation and live action. About half of the cartoons are for children, and all the Betty Boop cartoons either are from the later long-skirt-no-visible-garter period, or actually "star" a secondary character. I'm enjoying this product, and it's easy to skip the boring ones.

  • Grandkids love the OLDIES

I bought these cartoon DVDs because I thought it was 2 DIFFERENT sets of cartoons. However, when I received them I found out that it was 2 of the same set of DVD's. My grand children love to watch these OLD cartoons and now they can have more than a couple of DVDs to watch. They can also have a set for home IF their mother will let them watch them there. Even though it was 2 of the same thing, the PRICE WAS RIGHT and FREE SHIPPING sure made it worth it. I'll shop with them again. One of these days I'll learn to read everything all the way through and not be in such a hurry. I think I still would have bought these DVDs, though.

  • Super value!

Two identical sets of 3 DVDs. One for the nieces and nephews and one for me! All for $5 and shipping free! These cartoons must all be in the public domain to be so cheap. Black and White! OMG, try to remember that many of these 'toons were made before TELEVISION EXISTED. How the heck did people watch them? It seems to me at least a third of the 'toons are in color. Inappropriate for kids? Hogwash. Cartoon violence is just that and usually includes a moral lesson. Are you too young to remember Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry? The cat and mouse; this collection has the earlier Van Beuren version, two human buddies, one tall and one short. Yes, there is a warning at the beginning of each disc about the stereotypes and prejudices of American society present in the bygone era ...

  • Ultimate 150 Cartoon Festival (DVD, 2007, 3-Disc Set)

Not your everyday classic cartoons. 5% maybe are cartoons you would be familiar with. The rest are old cartoons as the ad states. But they are cartoons that nobody are familiar with. If you are buying it so you can relive your old time Saturday mornings that used to make you laugh and bring back old memories then I would not buy this. I was disapointed. I wanted to see Foghorn Leghorn, Baby Huey, Droopy, Goofy, some good old stuff. But instead I saw mainly obscure cartoons that I have never seen. And they weren't really funny. I personally wouldn't buy them again or advise anyone to do so. I wanted to share some of the funny memories with my grand daughter, but wasn't able to.
