    2001 review

DVD in great shape. I saw this show about 50 years ago on my HS prom night. Amazing how the writer and producer could see the future, similar to our present day with AI thrown in.

  • Top critical review

I've seen the movie many times. The movie is good. The disc was only faur.

The disc is scratched. It plays pretty well if I'm willing to put up with the occasional stutter. It's only gonna be watched a few times in the next 20 years. It isn't worth sending it back.

  • No Better Movie...

2001: A Space Odyssey, by Stanley Kubrick, is by far one of the best and most influential films ever made. The film was a wonder for it's time (1968) and still is today. The movie is a great watch for any movie enthusiast or analyst. The techniques and technology used by Stanley Kubrick are one of a kind and are often stolen by other directors and used in modern day film. This movie has evolutionary and religious themes hidden within its frames. Without a doubt, this is the best movie of all time, one that can be easily watched time after time and you can still pick out new things and learn more about it. This is a must watch film, I promise you won't regret watching it. :-)

  • See it several times; once is not enough.

The film broke a new ground, I know. But it is philosophical as well as scientific. When one's curiosity jumps away from the earth, what does he do? These and more questions are bubbling up throughout the film. Enhanced by the music by Strauss, the film begins with the discovery of weapons and discrimination among the apes. The film ends, or takes us back from space to the earth, from the adult man to a new-born baby. The film is also a fable.

  • awesome movie.

I haven't seen this movie since the early 80s when I was a child, I really like how Commander David Bowman went from a typical humanastronaut and suddenly became a "Star God" Then I also 2010 which in a way explained everything, albeit in its own way. Once In fact I remember Keir Dullea coming to the Doylestown fair when I was in college performing some play or theatre back in the early 2000s. I would also recommend watching 2010 to get a better understanding of 2011.
