  • works fine with COX, up to gigabit speeds

I have had good experiences with Arris modems, they are widely supported by US cable companies and reliable. It can become a little warm so it's best to place it somewhere that has some airflow and is not overly hot if you want it to last. Cable modems are pretty basic from the end user point of view, just connect power, cable coax, and ethernet, then call the cable company and give them the serial number and mac address. They provision it and you're done. There is no end user configuration required. The SB8200 does have a web interface you can connect to for some basic status information. The default id and PW is easily found by searching online.

  • It was super easy to set up with Comcast/Infinity.

Easiest modem to set up with Comcast. Just plug it in and Comcast senses it through your Comcast account. They texted me a code # and Bamm it’s setup. I was a Comcast critic but it his really impressed me.
