About this product

Product Information

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" for the PS3 lets Harry Potter fans relive the events of the movie with the same name. With a release date of November 16, 2010 from Electronic Arts, this game takes a more action based approach to gameplay than previous versions from previous years. You can take cover or sling spells at your enemy when the opportunity presents itself. Unlike earlier Harry Potter games for the PS3, this one focuses on action and stealth based gameplay segments rather than puzzles. Additionally, the game takes you away from Hogwarts and into unfamiliar areas to create a truly mysterious adventure. As you guide Harry through the levels in this game, Ron and Hermione follow along to help out as you try to find and destroy the seven horcruxes necessary to defeat Lord Voldemort. It has a third person, over the shoulder camera angle that's easy to work with. As you proceed through the various levels in the game, you will gain experience and be able to upgrade your spells. Using the spell wheel, players can choose from a range of magic options to attack enemies and interact with their environment. For example, "Expecto Patronum" can cast a Patronus to repel dementors while "Expelliarmus" will disarm an enemy wizard. There are also various potions that you can acquire to restore health, transform your character, or cause massive explosions. The gameplay for this Harry Potter PlayStation installment is packed with plenty of action. You will fight Snatchers, Death Eaters, and evil wizards by the dozen as they try to capture or kill you and your friends. Other enemies include dementors, dragons, and spiders. Instead of roaming around freely and making potions in class, in this game, you'll do more spell casting, dodging, and defending as you fight for your life. You can take cover behind objects in your environment to protect yourself from damage. You may have to switch from intense action sequences to stealth missions that require the Invisibility Cloak. The Harry Potter PlayStation video game features a slew of voice actors to liven up the story, including Rupert Grint, who voices the character of Ron Weasley. The full cast of voice actors makes the cutscenes and plot as enjoyable as the main missions are to play. There are over 80 characters in the game, including well known characters like Lucius Malfoy, Luna Lovegood, Dobby, and all of the Weasleys. The setting of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" takes you far away from Hogwarts. Instead, other hitherto unseen locations become the background settings for the game, including Grimmauld Place, Diagon Alley, the Ministry of Magic, Godrick's Hollow, and Malfoy Manor. This EA version of the Harry Potter game for the PlayStation can be an exciting addition to the series, featuring explosive action, enhanced graphics, and intricate and intense musical arrangements. You can play for hours trying to master and complete the first part of the Deathly Hallows story. This classic game can provide you with entertainment and adventure for years to come. Eventually, you'll want to destroy Lord Voldemort and enjoy a complete victory with your friends.

    I’m a fan

Yo be clear, I’m a big Harry Potter fan and ever so often go on a rant of re-reading the books and re-watching the movies and playing the games. I think these games are super fun and a good edition to any fans Harry Potter fix.

  • Fun game, esp for Harry Potter fans. Don't listen to the "pro" reviews

I don't understand the complaining people have done about this game. It really isn't that bad. It's a little too slow controlling the action, but overall it has some quality gaming in it. There is stuff to explore to find, and a lot of action. Much less boring than searching an empty castle and going to classes. And it's not like they could make levels out of the 3 kids camping trying to figure out what to do next. Pretty good visuals. The game drags out a bit, but that's the same feel the movie has (and rightfully so to match the book), so I think it's a good thing. You're supposed to feel as Ron, Hermione, and Harry would on such a mission, and in reality it would NOT be super exciting and mesmerizing at all times--and by no means short. So, really, the game does a decent job. ...

  • Great game the best one We thought Just not good for epileptic people

Good plot great art and keeps you on the edge of your chair. My whole family liked it and we all thought it was up to the great standards that all harry potter items are. The one thing is my youngest son is epileptic and the sudden movement was almost to much for him. The creation of flight was way to real for him. We all thought it was fantastic but my younger son can't play this game.

  • Awesome sauce
