  • interesting but not that great - Punk rock Spinal Tap?

The joke about the guitarist being in jenifur was a bit amusing, other than that I really didn't enjoy this flick. The band was supposed to be playing live and it definately didn't sound like it. I only bought this movie to see the character that the band Billy Talent (River Below, Try Honesty, Prisoner of Today) named themselves after. Actually it was cool seeing Joey Ramone though and some of the music was cool and the actor who played Billy Tallent was good. Joe Dick sure was annoying but I guess he's supposed to be.

  • Loved it!

Yes, Hard Core Logo could be described as the Canadian Punk Rock Spinal Tap, but there is so much more to this movie. For starters, the tone of Hard Core Logo is pretty serious compared to the nudge-nudge, wink-wink goofiness of Spinal Tap. HCL was filmed more as a straight on documentary, plus the ending isn't exactly a laugh riot. The performances of High Dillon and Callum Keith Rennie are spot on, plus the music kicks ass. I highly reccommend this movie!
