It is engaging and holds your attention all the time.
The painting is beautiful and one Vermeer would have painted. There are so many stories woven into the life of this painting. It is a burden but is the most precious thing in their life.

A movie/story when told will keep you coming back for MORE!
I saw this movie for the first time on the Hallmark station. A few years later, wanted to see the movie again and went to Ebay to buy. While watching the movie, I discovered that Thomas Gibson was a familiar face-Criminal Mindsp-which I started watching after I saw the movie for the first time. Years later one of the actresses becomes a familiar face on Boardwalk Empire-student. I helps to be Dutch and am a Vermeer lover. I have quite a few of his paintings, and my wife allows them to be displayed in our home. Good writing, great film making-I wish I could find the actual painting as done in the movie. Not a bad film, but not a great one either...
I was so excited to see Thomas Gibson, and Glenn Close work togetehr, and imagine my surprise when they were only expecdition to a story about the history of a painting. Don't blink or you will miss how the story line archs...
