    Lovely throwback to a kinder, gentler era...

    I wasn't around yet when ANNETTE originally aired in the spring of 1958 on the final season of the original Mickey Mouse Club (MMC), but this DVD set kinda makes me wish I had been. Watching this — and the other MMC serials that have previously been released on DVD, like SPIN & MARTY and THE HARDY BOYS — takes me back to a simpler, gentler time. I don't know if kids today would find these old serials engaging or not, since they're filmed in B&W and move at a little slower pace than most of today's quick-cut editing, but THIS overgrown kid can't get enough of the old MMC serials. It would be nice if Disney ever released more of them (beyond the ones mentioned above), but I won't hold my breath. Anyway, if you generally like this kind of retro television, you'd probably also find ANNETTE ...

    An apetizer to her entire career.

    I love Annette--who doesn't?!! To not like Annette Funnicello is to have global issues with Walt Disney and all he stood for! I enjoyed this series about Annette(corny as it was.),but i thought for the price of the dvd there would have been a section inclusive of her Mouseketeer years or the best of her mouseketeer years. It's way too expensive for the price, and the content it holds. I've found dvd/vhs copies of the Mickey Mouse Club that offer more of Annette at more than half the price of what is being asked of her solo dvd,"ANNETTE."

    I was so excited to finally purchase this wonderful set. All fans of Annette Funicello will really Love this DVD Set. It has all the fun shows I remember from when I was Young and the Bonus Features Touch your heart. Especially the Annette Interview. What a Wonderful way to once more enjoy time with Annette.

    Came as described. Good price for the type of dvd it is, packaged well.

    I have been wanting this dvd for a while now. A few years ago, my sister and I found the Annette show on YouTube and we watched some of it. For whatever reason, I could not finish the show and over time I forgot about it; until I found the dvd on Amazon, but it was too expensive. So I waited and over time I forgot about it, until just resently, when I was looking on eBay and I found it at a cheaper price. So I bought it, and now I can finish watching the show. I'm sure it will be a good show, I liked the first two episodes that I saw; that was about three years ago. Thank you, I'm so happy with this purchase.
