Cahill, a loving Father, who is concerned for his sons, and getting the bad guys. Sometimes, the family at home and family of the Law, are confused. But his Integrity is not. His Honor and the respect he deserves, is there. At the end of the film, the little kid in all of us, remember what Respect and honor and integrity is, and all of us wanted J.D. A lot of people say that John Wayne was not a great actor, that he always played John Wayne. That may be true, because he was such a great actor, that he was able to always potray the charater he was playing with his own special style. A number of great actors were able to do this, Jimmie Stewart, Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Katheren Hepern, just to name a few of the great ones. In this movie, He plays a tough lawman, who's sons vie for his attention by getting into trouble with a gang of bank robbers, but finally help him to get them. He trys not to show favoritism to his sons, to show them that even they are responsible for their actions.
