Delightful collection of early demos for various songs, including This Will Be Our Year & Bunny Lake promo, rehearsal, home demos and other fun stuff. There are songs I hadn't heard before. And of course there's the great later songs, some alternative versions, Odessey & Oracle is included & too many other delights to mention. And I didn't even mention the included book! Lots of pics from the early years. Once upon a time, there were all at once several bands making music of such quality and importance that it is difficult to describe to anyone too young to have been there. In a modern society where anyone can have for free 5000 songs of low importance and fidelity loaded into their phone, it seems unreal now. The Beatles. The Dave Clark Five. The Kinks and yes, The Zombies. The Zombies were much unappreciated in their homeland, but conquered America and much of the world in the mid-1960's. If you have ever fallen under their spell, as I have, this box set will remind you why. It will all come back; well-crafted pop songs expertly making use of minor keys, fantastic keyboard solos played seemingly effortlessly by Rod Argent, complimented by the angelic vocals of Colin Blunstone-a man who I ... A must have for fans
I only knew of the Zombies from three or four hits during the 60's. After hearing a single cd greatest hits recording, I wanted more. This collection provides all their songs of this era, along with a book of their history and details of the songs. Well worth it.
