I have watched Eddie numerous times and never fail to enjoy it. Whoopie is funny, as usual. There are many great one liners throughout this movie. The plot is easy to track and enjoyable to watch unfold. Whoopie plays the widow of a New York cop whose passion was basketball and working with street kids. After his death, Whoopie continues her husband's work with the kids by coaching a basketball team for the kids. Whoopie and her girlfriend attend all the N.Y. Nicks games, too, where they sit in the nose bleed section. And no one can accuse Whoopie of being a silent fan at the games. At one of those games, the new owner of the Nicks, who is quite a character himself, fixes a contest, so that Whoopie gets to try out to be a "coach" for the night. The movie hits a peak when the owner threatens to sell the Nicks to another city. Whoopie won't stand for this and pulls an outstanding maneuver to see that this sale doesn't happen. The question is, "Will the owner back down?" This is a fun movie with a moral or two. It is what I call a "feel good" movie. You'll have to watch it to see if Whoopie saves the day for the Nicks.

I have always thought this movie was one of her 'best'...love the way they incorporated the NBA...to have her confront the way she does to the 'owner' of the New York Knicks is hilarious!!!...

I love this movie. Whoppi plays a coach of the new york niks a dream come true for her. She soon finds out how hard being a coach actually is.
