About this product

Product Information

One of the PC's most successful first-person shooters moves to Sega's Dreamcast console with this release of Unreal Tournament. The graphics of 1998's original Unreal were revolutionary and the basic 3D engine created for that game is still being used in games under development several years after its release. Gameplay of the original Unreal was heavily focused on fast action and violent confrontation. This sequel offers more of the same frantic fragging through smooth, richly textured, thoroughly believable environments, but with a distinct emphasis on competition and multiplayer battles.

As in the PlayStation 2 port of this title, the Dreamcast's Unreal Tournament features a special split screen mode for multiplayer combat between friends in the same room. This Dreamcast version of the game is also designed to work with the dial-up modem or the broadband adaptor for online multiplayer games where a connection is available. Though some of the larger maps from the original release have been replaced with less memory-intensive levels, this Dreamcast version of Unreal Tournament is tailored to offer all of the gameplay elements that helped to make the PC version a success.

    PC experience on console with big screen!

    This is the fast paced action of an arena shooter, now playable on the dreamcast! Unreal Tournament is so good and so fun. Did I mention you can use a keyboard and mouse to make it nearly perfect?! Obviously a computer now can run this better, but this version is quite choice, especially for its time. Plug in your keyboard and mouse, boot up your dreamcast and turn up the sound. It's time for a rampage!

  • Unreal Tournament

    Your typical First Person Shooter game. (FPS) You run around in multiple arenas to kill all of your enemies (AKA, Bots) as best as possible. There is a decent variety of weapons to use. Most of them are pretty powerful and really cool too. All of them have secondary functions as well, which can be very useful. Most of the arenas are a little small, but they are big enough for good matches no doubt. Unreal Tournament contains 4 different gameplay modes. The first one is Deathmatch, which is where you try to kill the most bots before the others. For example, you have a flag limit of 15, so you have to kill any bot 15 times to win the game. The other gameplay mode, which is more action-packed then Deathmatch, is Domination. In this mode, you and your bot team have to conquer different bases ...

  • It feels more dated then it should but, dear god, it is fun.

    first im going to get the bad out of the way. Iv played alot of dreamcast games lately and one of them is Unreal Tournament. Games like sonic adventure 1 and 2, Jet Grind Radio, Half Life, and Crazy Taxi, no matter how good or bad the games were they all had one thing in common: They all had amazing graphics and framerate. I wish i could say the same about Unreal but sadly i was disappointed by how pixlated everything was, how bad textures were, and how bad the fraterate got at many points in the game. The worst of all this was the sound effects. Dear god, it sounded like i was playing a SNES or something. The voices from the characters were muffled and impossible to understand. The dreamcast has stereo and amazing sound quality, there is no need for such horridness. Now for the good. If ...

  • Average FPS

    This game is your average pre-dual anolog controler shooter game. Decencent grappics, the controls can be pretty clean with a little tweaking though. I would've ranked this game a little higher if the maps were a little lager. but they make up for the small maps with HUGE quanity. tons, and tons of maps. only 10 weapons, but each weapon has two different fire modes. overall average fps game, not quite up to par with the other single analog games like Goldeneye or The World Is Not Enough for n-64 {which are a little older,even}

  • Need i say more. This is Unreal Tournament

    Your looking at won of the best 1st person shooters games of all time. Unreal Tournament has tons of character to choose from. Over 60 maps. Great graphics. Smooth frame rate. It's a blast to play. You'll be playing this for hour and hours. Theirs nothing greater than getting a couple of buddies and fraging each other and talking some smack. You won't be disappointed
