Four Sides Shape The Country's Future!

The story of the French And Indian War and how it formed the foundation for the American War For Independence. Focusing on not merely the players in the event (The English, the American colonialists, the French, and the local Native American tribes), but the reasons for it, the pressures each group to succeed, the depths they would all go to to win, how they perceived each other, and the long term costs of the war, it is narrated clearly by Graham Greene, so you are truly hearing the Native American view of the war. Most notably for Americans watching it, this video goes into great depth about how this war shaped George Washington, and reveals several points about him that aren't covered in history classes. If you enjoy history and exploring the dark sides of human nature, I do ...

  • Great Miniseries on the French and Indian War.

This is an excellent film on the French and Indian War. It starts out showing Washington in 1776 and how he reflects back on events in 1754. It goes into deep detail over events leading to the French and Indian War and the events that started it during 1752-1754. It fully covers Braddock's defeat and the stalemate battles around Lake George. It recreates the same battle the movie "Last of the Mohicans" is based around, the battle of Fort William Henry. It continues with a turn of events in favor of the British who achieve victories in Nova Scotia and Louisburg. The battles around Fort Duquesne and Quebec are presented in full detail. The last part of the video covers Pontiac's rebellion and the British attempt to try and maintain peace with the Native Americans. ...

  • Information, Entertaining Documentary on French & Indian War

Informative 2-DVD documentary on the French & Indian War, which doesn’t receive as much attention from historians and history buffs as it deserves. I watch a lot of these kinds of documentaries; this one is excellent. DVD arrived promptly, was used but in good condition .

  • Informative

I learned a great deal about a war that was not covered when I was in elementary or high school. Even in college in the American History class I took. I would highly recommend it.

  • America durnig the Seven Years War

Accurate portrait of America's first world war. I appreciate the emphasis on the role played by the Native Americans. The production showed that the native peoples, rather than just savage pawns, were active in their perceived self interest, apart from the interests of the two European powers. I would have liked to have seen something on Robert's Rangers. I would have also liked to have seen something on the economic interests that led to English agents and longhunters penetrating the trans-mountain west.
