  • Lords of Thunder for the Turbo Duo

Lords of Thunder proves to be one of the finer moments for the lifespan of the Turbo Duo console, and one of the last breaths of life as well being made in mid 1993, as one of the final games this console would ever see. With great emphasis on incredible music that has a "heavy metal" feeling all the way though, which matches the awesome feeling of the action on screen, this game sure does deliver. Lords really made great use of the color palette of the Duo, and also of the parallax scrolling as well, which helps bring the game to life. The intro screens, the armor/weapon select screen, and the stages all seem to be made with perfection in mind, and you can tell that other than Sapphire, Hudson Soft went out of their way to make this game shine on the Turbo Duo, as this game was the ONE ...

  • Old Skool Space Shoot-Em up!TG16/TurboDuo-

If anyone remembers the early 90's then this is it Lords Of Thunder came out in America 1993 on the Turbo Duo that is 16 years ago I was still in High School I had 5 months left. I still remember getting my butt kicked in this tough game the game is probably the only game that had Heavy metal playing in a Space shoot Em up that I know of from this Generation..Killer Japanese Animation as well CD+G Graphics was considered I gotta have it in the early 90's Gun Buster anyone? Ok here's the most annoying thing about this game the enemies are a pain in the butt! Second the game is to short 6 stages is way to short.. And 3rd the game doesn't look that great anymore well that's probably because its almost 20 years old....Also I will never understand as to why they never made a sequel to this ...

  • Killer soundtrack and gameplay

I bought my turbo duo in November 1992 and played Gates of Thunder like there was no tomorrow. I thought that video games just didn't get better than that. . . I was wrong. When Lords of Thunder came out, it had not only breath taking graphics, better than anything in the arcade or on any other home system but the sound was incredible! The game play was challenging but it kept me coming back for more. This is easily one of my favorite games of all time and it has an incredible soundtrack that you will want to crank up. A+ game!
