The original death cult meets human nature.

This book is so informative it should be required reading in all Hight School in the US. It would put away any pretense that Maxism/Communism/Socialism is worth trying again and again and watching it fail over and over. Let it die a natural death where it belongs. This is my second copy. I loaned out the first and never got it back.

  • A must read for anyone who cares about freedom of religion or just freedom.

This has been a great book. It was very well documented based on years of files released by several governments and the only real overzealous critique of this book seems to be from Marxists who follow the "party line" and either discredit certain material in this book or attempt to drive a mental wedge between the label of communism and genocide or communism and Russia's former political system (as typical Marxist professors always do). Although Russia was considered Totalitarian, I think any adult of mild education or better might laugh if you suggested that Communism had nothing to do with Russia. Of course, I can be fair as well, if I were a Communist, I might be defensive as well (given, I didn't have the choice to drop the mindset of victimology and grow up ...

  • Needed in every library and every household

This book details factual accounts and records of the terrorism, debauchery, murder, torture, massacres of the most dangerous form of government known to man in the past 100 years--communism. When despotic leaders look around for the form of government that would give them the most control and authority over people, they choose communism, where there are no checks and balances. This overwhelming evidence of the evils of communism is published by the bastion of liberal scholarship--Harvard University Press. This volume, though pricey, should be in every freedom loving home to educate all within the home, especially the younger generation, which is not being taught in public school history books of the horrors and great dangers of communism, and its slippery slope transitional ...

  • Hitler Was an Amateur!

The true masters of mass murder and genocide are the Communist regimes around the world. This book is a compilation of damning essays by European writers, many of whom considered themselves "fellow travelers", who used Soviet archives to document the activities of Communist regimes. They found that the Soviet Union experienced widespread deaths from famine, numbered in the millions, before Hitler was ever elected Chancellor and before National Socialist death camps came into existence. The writers look at each of the Communist regimes, documenting the purging of internal enemies (real or potential) when each regime came in power. Almost nothing is taught of the real face of communism in our schools--it is just a political theory that just might work if ever given a chance. ...

  • Real history lesson

Anyone who thinks romantically of a Utopian world if only socialism was implemented should make this book their next read. A glimpse of the next stage.
