Fairy tales come alive in this anime that is part SAILOR MOON, part Brothers Grimm. When a prince from an unfinished story sacrifices his heart to continue his quest, he inadvertently charms the author of the tale into returning him from his grave to continue with the narrative. Instead of writing the ending, however, the author transforms a duck into a pretty ballerina with the alter ego of a princess destined to save the prince's heart. It's a strange and charming tale that merges classic children's stories with an anime twist.

Item as described and replied to all my messages. Handling took a bit of time to get to USPS, but item arrived within quoted time frame. This is eBay, not Amazon. Any review that say this seller takes too long to deliver probably was upset that the item arrived toward the end of the projected date. That being said, I ordered part 2 of this series a day later and it was delivered from Japan in half the time.

    Captivating with Beautiful visuals

    For those who are wondering what princess tutu is like, this anime actually has alot of grim momments.Mostly it has to do with the characters determination in this story.Each episode has a kewl opening with a storybook teller setting up what will the episode u are about to watch will be about. There is alot of dancing but its really nice..I think I just got annoyed by princess tutu's entrance..its the same all the time. This anime is mainly about a girl with an identity crisis and only wants to win the heart of the one she loves. But there are lots of obstacles in her way such as a rival for her love and if she has the power within her to help the prince whom she loves so much. This anime packs in comedy, action, drama, romance, all in one sweet package. Definintely recommend.

    A cute and very sappy series

    I'll admit, when I was first looking at this series I was a little doubtful about its quality. I found some clips on youtube and decided it might be worth investing in. Now I've seen the series several times and it's become one of my favorites. While it's "supposed" to be a tragedy, the characters find ways to turn things around and by the end you'll find yourself wanting to watch it again and again. Also, it has a very well done mix of popular fairy tales mixed throughout it that kids can relate with and appreciate as well. Great for that anime lover, fairy tale lover, and families alike.

    Something Different

    This anime was really cool. From first look it's very shojo or girly, but there is some very dark and deep issues it deals with. It works with almost any and all age groups, just with younger kids you might want either wait or let them re-watch it at an older age to get the full effect of the charcter development and story line. There are lots of Features in this set. A must buy for any anime fan. Even if your not a fan of ballet you'd still love this anime.

    Impressive.

    Great anime, but it appeals to a very select audience. It's: a) a "kiddy" show; rated-G, low on sarcasm, low on sex. b) a "girly" show. Think Sailor Moon, only good. But it's very intriguing and compelling; if you're willing to approach it with an open mind, then it will blow you away.

    Best anime Ever!!

    I am an avid anime fan. I have seen 50+ anime series and this is by far, my favorite! You are captivated by the first episode! Its not girlish at all! This inspired me to get back into ballet and even pointe. Very emotional and special!
