Great box set. Bad design.
Having the entire series of Stargate-SG1 in one box set is amazing. The disc holders are good. The box itself is good but hard to display with your other box sets due to size. I love the stargate on the box. The downfall to this set is that the glue that hold the disc holders to the 2 gold binders does not hold. I wish the designers went with a better way to store the discs but oh well. If you want the entire 10 seasons of SG1 on DVD in a nice displayable box set, this is your set. Having the entire series of Stargate-SG1 in one box set is amazing. The disc holders are good. The box itself is good but hard to display with your other box sets due to size. Great Series Great Product
I can't believe that they actually sold this entire series for a price range around $150. Stargate SG-1 is the best sci-fi series since Star Trek: TNG and only gets better the farther you get into the series. With a 6600 minute runtime you will be kept entertained for months if not years with new episodes to watch each time. Even after the episodes you have another 4 dvds of exclusive extra content for the Complete Series edition. The Stargate is a device created by an ancient humanoid race that ascended beyond the physical form into an energy life form. In this form they hold the knowledge and experiences of the universe but refuse to communicate or affect physical beings who have yet to ascend. Earth comes into the picture around 1945 when after the Stargate is found buried in ... I can't believe that they actually sold this entire series for a price range around $150. Earth comes into the picture around 1945 when after the Stargate is found buried in Egypt is sent to America to protect it from Nazi German possession. However the American government doesn't know how to use or even what the Stargate is. Much later on the Air Force learns about the Stargate and starts to try to make it work with no luck. Daniel Jackson an archeologist who believes that the pyramids were once landing pads for starships was brought into the program to help discover the secrets of the Stargate. Through Daniel Jackson they learn that no only is the Stargate a transportation device but a device that can transport to thousands of ten of thousands of other gates in this galaxy. That is where this series starts. If your a fan of sci-fi then this is great buy and will last you for a very long time. Not to mention the case for the dvds is well made and very compact for storing 54 dvds.

Great collection, but beware the packaging.
Wonderful series. A must-have for any true fan. Also a great dollar value. Enough has been said elsewhere regarding the quality of the Stargate Franchise. The ONLY reason I rated it a 3 instead of a 5 is the incredibly BAD packaging. Upon receipt at least 6 discs were rattling around inside the box, and if they aren't damaged on arrival you'll like scratch them trying to get them in and out of the cardboard sleeves. I was lucky as only one disc so far will not play (I'm only starting season 9 so there may be more) but a replacement was easy to find and at a price that was tolerable and easier to deal with than going back to the manufacturer. As Advent1844hope said, go out and get the slimline poly double dvd cases; they will fit in the original display box.Wonderful series. A must-have for any true fan. Also a great dollar value. In all the deluxe box sets that are available for TV series today, here is one that is put together the way most box sets are not these days .. with care!!! The TV series speaks for itself taking off where the movie left off about 1 year after, the ideas of different species and characters are well put together and formed. The design of the package holds all 54 disks securely to protect your investment and with a price tag that is normally between 250.00 to the 329.00 suggested retail price , that’s an important fact in itself. Obviously the collection was put together for the true and dedicated fans of Stargate Sg-1 that watched the series flourish from July 1997 to its conclusion of March 2007 but also anyone who enjoyed this show will appreciate it as well. Gotta love this series and this set is great
We didn't get into the series until the fifth season until apparently after it had moved from showtime or something like that to the sci-fi channel which I did not know about until recently, so we watched the pilot episodes children of the gods on the original season one box set before the remaster of the children of the gods episode, and was very surprised not in a good way to see full frontal nudity on Shar'Ra which I've never seen before even though I've seen this episode many times, just never on the original DVD set, and I think this set has the nudity removed so it's more family friendly version. Since we started watching in the fifth season we of course had to buy the box sets to watch from the beginning to catch up and never watched them on DVD til recently but now we started ... Since we started watching in the fifth season we of course had to buy the box sets to watch from the beginning to catch up and never watched them on DVD til recently but now we started watching from the beginning on this complete series set and so far it's amazing as always, the box set looks really cool and doesn't appear to be flimsy as far as I can tell, there is a chance for disc degradation from removal and reinsertion into the disc holders so be careful and make sure you lightly blow off the discs and the sleeves when putting the discs back inside to help minimize scuffing or scratching, the episode guide book is nice in that it lays out the episodes on the discs to help keep things in order, overall this is a cool set and I love the way it looks and the 3D Stargate on the front really adds to the overall look of the box set. If you have the original individual box sets like we do and have kids you might like the no nudity, were not prudes you know, but we don't feel the need for nudity on a show like this and it's nice that they removed it from the remastered children of the gods episode, if your happy with the original separate seasons sets then you won't gain much with this set other then it takes up less then a third of the space of 10 separate sets and it is well laid out and organized in two separate disc holders like fold out books, we will probably give away our separate sets or pack them away in case we ever need them or want to use them again? But for this set we are pretty happy with the layout and the looks of the packaging, if you don't already have the separate sets and want this set instead, then shop around and find this at a good deal because it's worth the price if you can find it for a good deal and in excellent condition as we did Love it and will watch it for years, you will too, but other then the smaller size and four special features discs the individual sets and the complete sets are fairly similar, this set just looks cooler and has more special features discs and stuff so it's all about what you prefer or want
